Fire protection shutters are similar to conventional steel slatted and galvanised steel roller shutters, electrically operated that close in the event of a fire. Our fire protection shutters are available in safety ratings of 1, 2 and 4 hours and are electrically operated vertical shutters consisting of a steel slatted curtain with galvanised steel box assembly and guide rails. The box, curtain, guide rails and bottom rail can be powder coated in a wide variety of colours to match your premises as an optional extra.
Designed to be a physical security barrier during normal use and to be closed automatically during a test or an emergency situation as fire safety shutters. In the event of receiving a fire alarm signal the barrier will perform a powered descent to create a fire resistant barrier.
In the event of power failure the fire safety shutters will close using the battery backup feature. The design allows for both face or reveal installations. All motors are within the housing which is available in a range of sizes to minimise space requirements.

Our Fire protection shutters are tested to approved standards with fire resistance performance to BS 476: Part 22: 1987 and BS EN 1634-1: 2008. The product was tested by being fitted onto a furnace to replicate the most severe conditions of a fire. The temperature of the furnace was then increased to 1000°C at a rate defined by the product standards. The Fire Shutter has been rated at 1, 2 and 4 hour.
Linked to our fire shutters are a number of control options including keyswitch and smoke and heat detectors, a range of audio visual devices and emergency retract switches can be connected to the panels using a 24 V DC supply from the panel. There is a requirement under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for companies to ensure fire safety equipment is maintained and a record kept. We can help advise you on this during our free survey.
The top box, curtain, guide rails and bottom rail can be powder coated in a range of colours as an optional extra ensuring security and effective fire resistance as well as maximum style and appearance to match your branding.
